My Review

This is a great Bible that any young girl would love to carry. The cover is beautiful, love the colors and graphics. And the best part I think is the magnetic flap to keep the Bible closed. There are a number of features, its pretty much like the first Faith Girlz Bible, but I still recommend this new and different color one. Here is what you will find inside.

Dream Girl–Ever wondered what it was like to live in Bible times? This feature uses your imagination to show you what it may have been like to witness some key events.
Bring It On–This is a personal favorite of mine. They are scattered throughout and they are quizzes and each answer is backed up with a Bible verse.
Oh I get it! Q&A explaining some of the things you may not understand.
Treasure This!–Good verses for memorizing!
Is there a little____ in you?–Quizzes that will help you understand some Bible characters–and yourself–a little better.
In Your Own Words–You get to summarize some key events in Scripture in your own words.

If you are looking for a Bible for the young girl in your life, they would be very pleased with this one.

Lily and Nana Written by Lily Hamilton and Barbara Myers

Lily and Nana
Written by Lily Hamilton and Barbara Myers
Illustrated by Brendan Sellaro

Lily and Nana is about a little girl named Lily and her Nana and the things they like about each other. Lily and Nana likes to spend time with each other even though they don’t always do the same things. Like when they are gardening together, Lily likes to plant the garden and Nana likes to water the garden after it’s planted.  They just enjoy being around each other and doing things together just like many young readers like to spend time with their Nana’s and really with any older person.

This is a cute little book and it especially teaches the young reader the fun and enjoyment of spending time with their grandparents. I like the idea that the author wrote about a child with her grandparent because children need to see the importance of being with older family and friends. The book is simple and easy to read with only a sentence one each page. The illustrations are a great addition to the story, showing the young reader what they words are saying. The only problem I have with the illustrations is with the faces of Lily and Nana. Lily doesn’t always look like a girl in the pictures, and on both Lily and Nana the faces seem mad or angry sometimes. That’s just my opinion but it seems like the characters could be smiling more to go with the happiness of the story.  I do feel like this book would be a great addition to any school, public or personal child’s library.

Once upon a time there was a guy who was essentially lost, up a creek without a paddle, that sort of thing. Things were not pretty.

Around this same time there was a girl who, for the most part, had her stuff together, but was thinking it was time to find Mr. Right. Next there was eHarmony, someone who sufficed as Mr. Right and some serious happily-ever-after.Sometime between ever and after, they had a couple of absolutely beautiful girls – Abby and Penny Jane – wrote some books, moved to Colorado and composed a little blurb for this website. But enough about us – tell us something about yourself. Blurb of the book from the Authors Website
Understanding that God is all around us is an incredible and awe inspiring realization. What’s even more amazing is that He is not some distant entity but is instead a personal God. As such, we can come to Him in prayer, sharing our hopes, dreams and desires as well as our regrets, mistakes and sorrows. Moreover, anytime and anywhere, we can offer up our thanksgiving and praise as we seek to worship Him always.
Scripture tells us to, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thes. 5.16-18) To this end, our second book addresses the question, “When can I talk to God?” The quick answer is, “Whenever, Wherever, Anytime, Anywhere!”
That’s When I Talk To God, using the same beautiful illustrations and scenery, will take you through a day in the life of a little girl as she finds one opportunity after another and one reason after another to pray to God. But even more exciting, she discovers that God talks to her too!
My Review
This is the sweetest little book for children. The mom explains to her small child that she can talk to God anywhere, anytime about anything. She encourages her to start the next morning praying to God during the day. As she looks out the window the next morning, she sees flowers, blue sky, clouds, and realizes she can tell God she loves Him, and thank him for making the beautiful things outside her window. As he goes throughout her day, she finds many more things she can pray about. Whether she is thanking God or asking Him to help her.
I love the way the authors explain each thing that children can pray about. That sometimes they can thank God for things, and sometimes they can pray for Him to help them. And the illustrations are beautiful, and help reinforce what the story is telling the child. This is a wonderful way to help children understand what prayer is. I read this book several times to my 2 year old niece, and though I thought the book was a bit old for her, she still loved it, and wanted me to read it over and over. After I finished reading it to her, she sat and looked at the pictures for a while. I think it would better fit 5 to 6 year olds, but younger children understand more than you think!
