The Little ABC’s Alphabet Rap……….Book Review Written and Illustrated by Adavia M. Jackson

The Little ABC’s Alphabet Rap……….Book Review Written and Illustrated by Adavia M. Jackson

This ABC’s book is about teaching ABC’s to children using Rap. The story uses a little bear to teach the ABC’s and his name is ‘LittleABC.’  The first few pages introduce the reader to the little bear, and to using Rap to learn the ABC’s, telling them to ‘clap their hands and bop to the rhythm.’ Each letter has its own beautiful colorful page with the upper and lower case letter, and each letter has really cute eyes and mouth. The page has a rap sentence to the alphabet letter, with Little ABC bear acting out what the sentence is about. An example is:  With the letter Ii the rap is ‘I to the ice-cream that tastes so yummy!’ and Little ABC is eating an ice-cream cone. And ‘Jj to the Jelly that’s going in my tummy’, Little ABC is eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and it has a plate with the sandwich, and a jar of peanut butter and jar of jelly in a plate with a fixed sandwich.

This is about all it is to tell about the contents of the book. I had never heard of using rap to teach ABC’s but I will have to admit, it is so very cute! The book cover and the beautiful bright color pages with pictures to go along with each alphabet letter are just adorable. Just the looks of this book would capture the interest of the young reader. The entire alphabet story in this book using rap would be exciting enough for the child to want to read it over and over. And again, I used my little 2 year old niece as a critic. She simply adores this book, and she loves to clap and bog to the rhythm of the alphabet. Although she knows her alphabet, this book is great at teaching her words that start with each letter. And she can have fun, giggle and act silly while learning!

I don’t think you can go wrong buying this book. It is a wonderful resource to teach young readers their alphabet in a really fun way. To me, the author’s writing and illustrating this book is not only awesome, but I like that she designed the book to stand out on the bookshelf to young readers.

I rec’d a copy of this book from Readers Favorite in exchange for a review. The opinions in this review are mine only. I was not required or expected to write a positive review of this book.
